Mechanical Team Leader - Hertfordshire - DAYS
(Shift working - 12 hour days operating on a 4 and 5 shift system, eg. 4 days on then 5 days off)
A vacancy has arisen for a Team Leader to join my client's excellent Engineering Team.
The purpose of the role is to direct the engineering shift Team Members to effectively support the production areas on site.
This role covers the full range of activities:
* Manage and supervise a multi skilled shift team to provide an appropriate level of service and breakdown support to all associated plant and equipment.
* Organise, plan, prioritise and co-ordinate work tasks.
* Liaise and ensure good communication with all engineering teams/personnel and production departments.
* Lead team by example, demonstrating commitment and bringing about positive change.
* Identify and implement improvement, cost saving and sustainable opportunities.
* Manage the HSE of staff and contractors, to ensure/improve safety performance, including good housekeeping
This role is challenging, the successful applicant will be technically competent, flexible, determined and self-motivated. Previous experience of Team Leading (mechanical) would be an advantage. Also, any electrical knowledge will be of interest.
Regular liaison with Production Managers and internal departments means good communication and people skills are essential. ONC/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent qualifications and/or experience are desirable.
