The Motor Claims Executive assists the Team Leader in the day-to-day management and development of the team. The Executive is responsible for coaching Advisors, Specialists and Senior Specialists who deal with all aspects of third party claims handling including personal injury to prevent litigation in all cases. In addition, the jobholder will pursue recovery of the insured and uninsured losses for the customer.
The Executive's role is split between mitigating losses, negotiating and controlling costs to achieve agreed targets and for ensuring the team approach tasks effectively to achieve team accountability and performance measures.
Working alongside the team and closely with third parties, external organisations and agencies, eg insurance companies, solicitors, uninsured loss companies and credit hire organisations and by applying the appropriate case law, the Executive will apply experience and integrity checks to control third party costs whilst achieving settlement deadlines and targeted productivity.
This role involves a high degree of influencing and negotiating with particular emphasis on conflict resolution. The Executive plays a key role in achieving a balance between the provision of a quality service combined with the commercial focus required to ensure that the Company meets all targets. The Executive will also assist the Team Leader on ad-hoc projects and may be asked to deputise for the Team Leader on occasions.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills
· It is essential that the jobholder has a thorough knowledge of handling motor claims or a similar role in an insurance company.
· Proven evidence of negotiating claims costs gained within an accident management, credit hire or insurance company is also essential.
· Proven evidence of coaching knowledgeable teams dedicated to front line customer support in a target driven role.
· Influencing and negotiating, in particular, conflict and objection resolution.
· Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level (Maths and English - Grade C and above).
· Computer skills (including the internet)
· Legal framework (financial Ombudsman Service rulings and recent case law)
· Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Regulatory compliance.
· Knowledge of Claims processes and systems.
· Awareness of fraud/Large Loss indicators.
