MOTOR CLAIMS TEAM LEADER - LEVEL 2
Role Purpose
The job requires a consistent approach to issues in accordance with the company's processes and procedures. These high standards ensure that the Department's objectives are achieved.
Third Party injuries currently accounts for approximately one-third of the overall claims spend. It is the area of highest claims inflation and the cases will therefore require a high degree of management and control. The area in general is a changing environment with new legal precedents/statutes being regularly introduced
ACCOUNTABILITIES
General
To recruit a team of people who will achieve all KPI's in line with the business plan.
Act as a referral point for the whole team.
To control the Motor Team's tasks and priorities.
To coach and mentor the Motor Claims team. To monitor the team's performance on a regular basis ensuring that quality, customer focus and cost control are maintained.
To handle more complex customer complaints/enquiries professionally and efficiently, paying attention to cost control.
To understand and interpret management information that is produced on injuries, so that development trends are understood and pro-active action is taken at every opportunity.To ensure the company's Best Practice is followed by the team.
Telephony
Ensure that the team comply with the following;
Answer all incoming call enquiries in an efficient, expedient and customer-focused way, ensuring that the customer/Third Party receives a professional service at all times.
Be pro-active in using the telephone to move the claim forward to reach the best possible settlement.
Deal with third party complaints in a professional and effective manner, ensuring costs control
Processes and Systems
Handle and process Third Party Injury Claims up to a value of £30,000 or £49,999 for multiple claimant cases accurately and efficiently and £99,999 on selected cases through TCD.
Ensure all claims are checked for possible fraud/Large Loss indicators.
Ensure the claim is actioned at every opportunity (both when post received and diary set) in order to reach the best settlement efficiently and expediently.
Ensure all recovery cases have liability apportioned correctly in order to achieve the best settlement.
Knowledge/Skills
*It is essential that the jobholder has an extensive knowledge of general claims handling, and Personal Injury file handling, ideally within the insurance industry.
*They must demonstrate a good understanding of the RTA/MIB and legislation relevant to road traffic accidents and injury claims.
*Front line customer support in a target driven role.
*Influencing and negotiating, in particular objections resolution.
*Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level (Maths and English - Grade C and above) or equivalent.
*Computer skills (including the Internet).
*Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Regulatory Compliance.
*Knowledge of Claims processes and systems.
*Awareness of fraud/Large Loss indicators.
*Self-motivated whilst having the ability to work as part of a team.
Professional Qualifications
Attained IFC Level 1 or show a willingness to study.
