Our client was founded in 2000 and specialises in brands, branding, marketing, communications and commercial thinking. With a focus on sports they have built up a powerful sports client portfolio. In addition to sports, they do work across a wide range of other business sectors with an emphasis on financial, luxury and premium businesses.

They are currently seeking an experienced person who can lead the new business development activities of the company. In addition to building new and existing client relationships, opening new markets and converting business, the role involves significant influence over the development of the company as a whole. This role is

ideal for someone who seeks responsibility and influence as part of their position and career.

Required experience

Specific sector experience is required including:

Good solid experience of generating business (nationally and internationally) for strategic and creative agencies

A proven track record of converting business and building lasting client relationships

Managing and developing a new business database

Developing and leading new business activities

Strong writing, presentation and negotiation capabilities

Overview of the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role involves all aspects of new business development including:

Growing the client portfolio and business revenues to reach GP goals

Growing top clients’ GP

Coaching, growing and leading the new business team

Identifying business opportunities in sports and other business sectors

Researching and developing a thorough understanding of a client’s business

Developing business and brand insights and tailoring approaches for meetings and pitches

Gaining respect from and influencing senior-level contacts and maintaining positive working relationships

Writing proposals and negotiating fees and contracts

Working with the new business team to generate and convert leads

Leading new business meetings, proposals and pitches

Developing and leading new business strategy
