We are currently recruiting Non-Medical Helpers / Academic Support Workers to support students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties in Higher Education in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. As a Non-Medical Personal Assistant, you may be required to provide any of the following type of support:
Notetaking
Library Assistance
Campus Assistance
Reading
The majority of the work involves Notetaking and we are therefore looking to recruit candidates with a high level of spoken and written English, neat legible handwriting and good spelling skills. In addition, it is vital that you are educated to degree level or be studying at this level at present.
The work is mainly part-time and offers flexible hours throughout the academic year. Therefore, this work is ideal for students or candidates seeking part-time, ad hoc hours specifically, Monday - Friday.
To work as a Non-Medical Helper, you need to be reliable, committed and patient. If you have any experience of working in HE, disability or in a related role, this would be of benefit to you.
Skills
Neat, legible handwriting. Excellent spelling skills. Good level of spoken and written English.
