As a Operational Risk Practitioner working as part of the RD Risk and control team, you will play a lead role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive, best practice Risk Management processes to enable Abbey to meet its corporate governance, regulatory and clients’ requirements. You will be required to advise and assist channel Directors in establishing and managing the Abbey Operational Risk Management Framework, whilst supporting them in all risk and control articulation and assessment.
Your overall responsibility will be to ensure that the accountability for risk management is clear, and you consistently work to develop, improve and produce Risk MI and reporting that effectively and accurately summarises the current risk position. As you conduct analysis and review of change projects to assist the understanding and assessment of operational risk, you will also be required to promote the improvement of a risk management culture throughout the business.
You will already have extensive risk management experience in the financial services sector, along with strong relationship management skills, capable of dealing with Channel Director, clients, third party suppliers and other key stakeholders, you will also hold strong organisation and planning experience, with excellent planning/prioritisation and organisation skills. With excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation, and presentational skills to highest levels you will possess strong analytical skills. Ideally you will also have a good understanding of risk and commercial drivers in the industry.
