Outdoor Adventures Operations Manager
Based in our clients office in Bangor, North Wales you will act as the direct line manager for the Operation team within the Business Operations Department consisting of the Senior Instructor, the Adventure Events Coordinator and the Stores and Equipment Supervisor. You will ensure the Adventure Events Coordinator delivers safe high quality UK based outdoor programmes, oversee the development of UK Adventure programmes, Expedition related programmes and training courses, and oversee the company stores and equipment function and associated resource in line with business objective.
It is your responsibility to ensure the efficient running of the team by providing proactive and effective project management, supervision and support. In addition you will ensure that all standards for quality, accuracy and responsiveness in the company's policies, procedures and customer care practices are met and developed where necessary. Supported by the Deputy Director Business operations, you will take responsibility for the company statutory licensing, Health and Safety, stores pressure and risk assessment procedure in respect of UK based outdoor programmes as well as providing support to the Expedition Operations Departing in respect of training courses.
Experience required
• Extensive overseas travel experience
• Experience of working with young people in the UK and aboard
• Expedition leadership over a number of years including leading youth groups
• Extensive experience of course design and delivery of both UK and overseas course
• Extensive experience of operational management
• Extensive experience of team management
Technical skills
• Outdoor activity Course Director experience over a period of years
• Land based at least one to a high level (ML (W), IML, MIA, MIC) Individuals with log book experience pending assessment will be considered. MIA Training essential
• First aid course deliverer, desirable
• Extensive knowledge of the outdoor education and expedition industry both commercial and public sector
• An in-depth understanding of the value and valued associated with outdoor learning

Basic Salary £20k-24k + £500 training per year (internal & external)
