Operations Solution Architect - SSO

Main purpose of the job

The solutions architect reports to the Head of Service Transition for SSO and is responsible for 'owning' the end-to-end architecture for the Single Sign On (SSO) Service.

This role will primarly work with R&D, Software Architects and Project Managers in a virtual team and focus on designing, building and deploying high availability, robust, resilient and supportable solutions to support the SSO service and associated customers (Music, Store, Share, Maps etc). With a focus on the infrastructure and operational elements of designing and deploying a service, examples could include ensuring services are highly available, have sufficient infrastructure capacity in place and are fully reslient across multiple data centres.

Essential requirements include a proven track record of designing and supporting consumer internet infrastructure technologies, holding a role as a service architect or senior systems engineer. This role will operate within a matrix environment, both within Service Delivery and the wider organisation and requires strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

A major part of this role will be working very closely with key stakeholders who include Nokia IT and the Technology Strategy Architecture teams, as well as the Service Operations teams, in ensuring the technologies we select, match our requirements for scalability, cost efficiency, availability and reliability.

Key tasks
·Supporting the SSO program and projects delivery from an infrastructure architecture perspective, in ensuring new technologies are successfully deployed and meet strict operational acceptance criteria.
·Work closely with R&D, Software Architects and other Solution Architects in desiging infrastructure architecture using best practice methodologies, ensuring high availability for high volume internet services.
·Work as part of a virtual team of specialists responsible for defining and driving infrastructure technology standards across the organisation, including hosting, network, storage, virtualization and edge computing amongst others.
·Contribute as part of a "solution architect community", namely a strong virtual team of like-minded individuals to help drive a philosophy of continous service improvement in infrastructure technology design.
·Evaluate the latest technologies, with the goal of ensuring reliability and resilience while rapidly scaling the infrastructure to meet high volume demand.
·Understand business requirements and translate these into innovative technical solutions.

Needed knowledge/skills

·Experience in relevant software or internet service industry with a service operational background.
·Experience as a Service or Solutions Architect or Senior Systems Enginer
·Experience in mentoring and coaching on infrastructure technolgies
·Leads teams by example and encourages innovative thinking
·Strong analytical and strategic skills
·Excellent negotiation and communication skills
