Oracle DBA Team Lead - Central London - to £80k + benefits
Our client develops Bingo and networked gaming solutions for the online gambling industry and is the leading developer and licensor of Internet bingo products in the UK. The company`s client base consists of leading brands such as Mecca, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Sky with peak traffic of over 6,000 concurrent players. They continue to focus on the UK as its core market whilst launching products in Scandinavia and Europe during 2009.
We are now actively looking for a highly skilled Oracle DBA Team Lead to join our client`s growing and successful company. You duties and responsibilities will include the following:
* Manage, motivate and mentor a team of specialists including Oracle DBA`s, data warehouse specialist and developers
* Provide the technical lead for the team
* Recruitment of new members of staff
* Management of holiday rota`s, overtime, absence and staff appraisals
* Plan and schedule team members time, both project and support based
* Provide out of hours / weekend DBA support as part of a rota
* Performing database software upgrades, application upgrades and database software installations
* Assisting other DBA`s in the team to build and scale databases for growth, security, and resilience
* Assisting the development and testing teams in the rollout of scheduled releases
* Day to day support of the Production/Dev/QA and Test database environments
Mandatory Skills and Experience
* Strong team management skills with a proven track record in managing a DBA team
* Extensive production Oracle DBA experience (ideally Oracle 10g)
* Hands on support of a high volume, highly transactional, on line, 24 * 7 * 365 system`s in a financial, telecoms, Internet based trading or online gaming environment
* Production experience of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, ADDM and AWR
* Strong Oracle performance troubleshooting skills including SQL tuning
* Thorough and in depth technical knowledge of Oracle backup, failover and disaster recovery processes (Oracle RMAN, Oracle Data Guard,)
* Experience of SQL, PL/SQL
* Practical use and implementation of database monitoring tools
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Data warehouse design and implementation
* Business Intelligence tools / Reporting tools
* Some knowledge of JBOSS and/or BEA Weblogic
* Knowledge of Quest product toolset.
* Knowledge of SQL Server
* Oracle 11g
