Oracle SOA Architect

We are currently looking for an experienced Oracle SOA Architect to join us to work on projects across the UK.

The Role

Sopra Group is currently looking for an Oracle SOA Architect to design a SOA solution making use of Business Process Execution Language, Rules Engines and Java services.The role will involve designing non functional requirements within a SOA environment including security, logging and auditing coupled with the provision of technical design authority leadership for the SOA development team.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to quickly grasp core concepts and provide practical viable solutions
  • Ability to work on own initiative (self starter) and within a tight knit team
  • Oracle SOA Suite 11g (knowledge of Oracle SOA suite 10g and BEA AquaLogic may be relevant)
  • Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)
  • Business Activity Monitory (BAM)
  • Service Component Architecture (SCA) and adapters/interfaces (SDO, EJB, JMS, WebService, File, Database etc)
  • Event Driven Architecture
  • Business Rules Engine / Decision Service
  • Human Workflow
  • Web Services and Web Service Security
  • XML, XML Schema design and XML transforms
  • Application and Oracle product based security (Oracle Web Services Manager, Identity Manager and Access Manager)
  • SOA governance

Personal Skills

  • Ability to work closely within an architecture team to produce a complete architecture
  • Ability to technically provide technical design leadership to a SOA development team
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on a business and IT level at all levels of seniority within the Programme
  • Ability to work with and influence an Enterprise Technical Architect, to ensure consistency with other workstreams and elements of the overall Technical Solution

Desirable Skills

The following skills would be advantageous:

  • Java and Java EE design
  • Java EE integration patterns (JMS, RMI, EJB, Web Services, JDBC)

The base location for this permanent role will be our Stevenage office, however candidates must be flexible and happy to work across the UK and at times, in locations outside of the UK.
