My Client - one of the World Leaders in it's field, is now looking for a Production Director to join it's Senior Management Team.
You will be working in a challenging, exhilarating and constantly changing environment.

The role will require effective resourcing, communications andemployee relations.
The Company has a union recognition agreement within the manufacturing operation and relationships are good.
The portfolio and regular innovation means volumes fluctuate on a regular basis and as such they regularly review the structure and shift patterns within the manufacturing plant to ensure they fit the businesses requirements and enable flexibility whilst retaining the right skill sets.


The Role: PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

* To manage bulk making, filling and assembly activities of the Production Unit, ensuring that the service level targets are met.
* To ensure the Plant meets the business supply requirements for customer service
* To ensure the compliance with the Health & Safety and Environment policies of European and UK Legislation.
* Oversee and coordinate the MPS process, inventory planning and warehouse management
* To implement and ensure a robust process for continuous improvement across all KPI's for the Production Unit.
* To develop and ensure the right team are in place to meet the factory objectives, goals, strategies and measures.

You will be responsible for -

Health & Personnel Safety -
Human Resources - Ensure all levels of your team are able to perform well within their role due to good recruitment, training and continuous development.
New Product Development - Work with NPD team to ensure the schedule supports launch plans and items at risk are identified and communicated.
Quality - Comply with quality assurance policies and corporate quality systems.
Investments - To identify and propose projects to optimize the cost, efficiency and output of the Production Unit
Production Planning - Oversee the management of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet the required needs of the business,
Warehouse - Oversee
Competitive Manufacturing - Benchmark the facility, layout, equipment against the best in class manufacturing operations .
 

Person Profile :

Educated to Degree level - Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Operations Management
MBA - ideally
Minimum 5 years Production experience within a Blue Chip Process Company - preferably in FMCG
Lean Expert - Lean tools & systems, 5S
Knowledge of World class manufacturing principles

You will be:

* Self - driven
* Accountable
* Willingness to be out front of organization, pushing for new levels of achievement
* Willing to seek best practices in/outside of organization
* Ability to organize and lead large projects simultaneously, and in different locations
