Partnering Surveyor Jobs are available in a number of our Council / Local Authority clients throughout the South West especially in Swindon, Wiltshire.
My client a national housing association is looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious individual to join there committed team ASAP.
The client is looking initially to appoint on a contract basis for 3 months being paid on an hourly rate. After this time the position will become a permanent role paying £26,341 + a car allowance of £3360
Job Purpose: Working closely as a Partnership team to provide a comprehensive maintenance service to residents within a defined area, in accordance with the Association`s established policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Carrying out referred pre- and post-repair inspections of day-to-day maintenance jobbing repairs covering all properties in the ?patch?, to identify repairs from the schedule of rates, where possible, or to prepare specifications for work not in the schedule.
2. Assisting and advising both Housing Officers and the Housing Service Centre on technical and maintenance matters.
3. Issue of works orders for the purchase of services, and subsequent checking of invoices.
4. In Liaison with the Contractor and Principal Surveyor, deliver the Planned Maintenance Programme, Adaptations, Improvements etc.
5. Assist with the preparation of annual estimates and monitoring of expenditure against budgets for the works listed in 3.
6. Investigate construction defects to properties that involve third parties i.e. Insurance, Environmental Health, NHBC, Structural Engineers etc.
Competencies required:
1. Good knowledge of construction technology.
2. Good draughting and design skills.
3. Able to communicate effectively with all members of the Raglan team and tenants.
4. Computer literate.
Qualifications required:
1. Minimum 3 years` experience in the maintenance of buildings and services.
2. Ability to work as part of a team.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Current, valid driving licence.
5. Minimum HNC in Building Studies.
