Key purposes of the role: To be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the payroll team. To allocate workloads on a daily basis to ensure that resources within the team are used to maximum effect taking responsibility for running aspects of the payroll as an individual but also supervising the respective teams in their duties, reallocating work as the need arises. To support the Payroll Manager by ensuring Payroll complies with legislation, regulations, national standards and good practice in relation to its service. To ensure payrolls, both internal and external, are processed on time to agreed deadlines. To include the completion of costing reconciliation, EDI, audit reports, BACS files, payroll controls and secondary checking To act as the first point of contact for the team in resolving operational issues relating to aspects of running the office and payroll queries. To ensure the payroll team are kept up to date with relevant changes to legislation and are accurately implementing any new procedures agreed with the Payroll Manager. |
