Payroll Team Leader/Supervisor

Ambridge Harris Associates are working with a business in Hampshire who are looking to recruit a Payroll Team Leader/Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising payroll preparation and processing. Updating and maintaining payroll related records and data file sand maintaining the payroll database. Plans coordinates and organizes the work flow to meet rigid payroll deadlines.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation and processing of monthly, weekly payroll runs.
Analysis, investigation and correction of errors associated with the editing of payroll data.
Prepares general ledger journal entries for voided and issued payroll checks; also prepares journal entries for payroll cash disbursements; responsible for preparation of payroll liability account reconciliation to the general ledger.
Responsible for recovering wage loans, relocation reimbursements, etc. from terminated employees.
Supervises the manual processing of wage loans, payroll adjustments, paychecks, benefit adjustments, special bonus awards, and commission payments.
Responsible for the preparation and processing of manual checks.
Provides assistance to payroll associates on a daily basis.
Responsible for preparing and submitting state payroll tax returns.
You will need to have supervisory/team leader experience for this role and it will be desirable if you have used SAP or got your IPP qualification or are studying. You will need to ability to plan, organize, and schedule work flow to meet rigid payroll deadlines.
