Personal Tax Manager

Guernsey, Channel Islands

The Islands have modern economies dominated by the success of the finance industry, with bank deposits of £275bn and funds under management of £291bn.Jersey and Guernsey are UK Crown Dependencies and thus enjoy a special constitutional relationship with the UK.

This is an opportunity to join an offshore tax team which is part of this Accounting firm’s wider UK tax practice. With significant growth over the last few years, their UK tax team are expanding and creating new opportunities for talented individuals. Your work will include a mixture of tax compliance and planning work covering capital gains tax, income tax, offshore trusts and transaction projects.

As a Manager you will:

  • Carry out personal tax compliance and advisory work for a portfolio of clients, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax planning.
  • Assist in providing advice and support to clients both verbally and in writing, and attend client meetings.
  • Supervise and support less experienced staff. 

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of UK tax legislation
  • CTA qualification and post qualification experience
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in personal tax
  • Experience of managing and servicing clients
  • Strong IT knowledge and the ability to manipulate spreadsheets.
