Job Title: Pharmacy Area Development Manager – North East
Reports to: Head of Pharmacy Operations

Brief Role Description: Working from a base pharmacy you will lead, manage and develop Pharmacy Managers, and their teams, in the Area to achieve high professional and operational standards, exemplary levels of service, and delivery of operational objectives and financial targets. Must be Registered as a practising Pharmacist with the RPSGB or PSNI for at least one year
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and deliver an effective schedule, and format, of visits to the pharmacies in the Area to support exemplary business performance.
- Lead, manage and develop Pharmacy Managers through regular feedback, mentoring and coaching
- Work as a pharmacist within Area pharmacies for two days per week, providing appropriate pharmacist cover within the Area pharmacist budget
- Enable and promote the efficient and effective sharing of resources and expertise across the Area when opportunities arise
- Drive own development through performance reviews, by seeking regular feedback and exploiting all available opportunities
- Lead recruitment in the Area, supporting Pharmacy Managers and conducting interviews where necessary
- Manage the controllable profit and loss account of the Area to ensure effective cost control in line with revenue
- Ensure efficient planning and organisation of pharmacy teams to meet the needs of customers and the business through a determined focus on the fundamentals of the operation
- Drive the achievement of the Company standards across all professional and operational aspects of the pharmacies
- Utilise management information to identify areas of focus and opportunities for change and improvement in pharmacies to benefit business performance and customer service
- Actively develop effective working relationships with local NHS stakeholders and maintain awareness of local changes and developments to increase opportunities to develop the business
- Ensure the consistent application of clinical governance and patient safety procedures
- Maintain compliance with all professional, ethical and legal obligations in all Area pharmacies, including health & safety and fire safety
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:
Essential
·Pre-registration training undertaken in the UK
·Registered as a practising Pharmacist with the RPSGB or PSNI for at least one year
·Proven leadership, performance management, coaching and influencing skills
·Able to get buy-in from individuals and teams
·Experienced decision-maker who takes accountability
·Excellent customer service skills
·Accredited to carry out MURs
·Able to build effective relationships and rapport at all levels

·Commercially focused

·Willing and able to travel regularly within own Area and occasional national travel
Desirable
·Accreditation for local enhanced services
·Multi-site management experience
·Has been a coach or mentor to other pharmacists or managers
·Previous responsibility for profit and loss of a business with significant turnover
·Experience of managing a large, complex operation
