An opportunity has arisen for a Physiologist/ Biochemist to join a friendly team at our client's Research and Development Labs in Colworth - Bedfordshire.
A highly motivated individual is required to support the Physiology Expertise Team within Discover Colworth. This opportunity is a 12 month contract position (to cover maternity Leave) Paying up to £15.00 per hour.
** This position is due to start in January 2010 however maybe sooner for the
right candidate **
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with human study coordinators to ensure delivery of human studies according to current best practice
- Scout new areas of science to support programme and present findings and recommendations
- Run patent, safety, regulatory and competitor searches as required
- Network with key academic groups in areas of interest
Knowledge / Skills required:
- Strong background (to PhD level) in area of glucose control and energy metabolism ( Essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills ( Essential)
- Experience in designing and running human studies ( Desirable)
- Good working knowledge of regulation of body composition (skeletal muscle and adipose) ( Desirable)
- Good working knowledge of nutrition in the context of energy and protein metabolism ( Desirable)
