My client currently has 4 roles for candidates qualified and experienced within the world of polmers. The roles are listed below with brief descriptions.
The role is commutable from, places such as: Enfield, Middlesex, North London, London, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Chesham, Amersham, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Luton, Potters Bar (and other locations within similar regions')
Consultant/Principal Scientist
This is a senior level position and requires significant knowledge of polymeric materials, their behaviour under demanding conditions and/or their use in oilfield applications. The successful candidate will be expected to operate at the consultancy level for my client, add value for clients, provide technical advice and guidance to staff, develop and coordinate commercial projects and represent my client at a senior level technically. The successful applicant will therefore be required to possess good communication, organisational and commercial skills and be able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to interact with commercial clients.
Engineer/Scientist plus Senior Engineer
Engineers/scientists are expected to work on a variety of areas until their strengths have been identified. This includes working in my client's oil and gas laboratories identifying the effects of exposures on polymers under high pressure and high temperature or working on mechanical testing aspects to evaluate the effects of load and environment on materials. A higher degree in a relevant discipline and industrial experience would be an advantage. Engineers/scientists are expected to work on a variety of projects and progress to the Senior Engineer level if they posses the appropriate skills. Senior Engineers/Scientists are expected to work on and manage projects and develop business within my client's base.
Senior Research Technician
This is a key role to support the well-equipped laboratories, including state of the art materials test equipment from Zwick and MTS with strain measuring equipment and environmental chambers, numerous pressure vessels for evaluating the effects of gases and fluids on polymers as well as facilities for mixing and moulding small rubber components and test pieces. Other capabilities include a small workshop, CAD packages and bespoke testing equipment. The successful applicant is expected to work with others and be trained to use and support the test equipment and to offer support in the upkeep of the general facilities. Ideally qualified to a national standard in an engineering discipline and able to demonstrate extensive experience in one or more of the above areas.
Salaries will be DOE but my client offers an excellent package for the right candidate.
