Overview of Company
Blemain Group is well established and extremely fast growing company operating primarily in the financial sector, in the following areas:
- Secured Lending & Mortgages
- Motor Finance
- Brokerage
- Property Investment/Development
The company was established over 30 years ago and now has over 200 employees servicing a national customer base. Turnover for the main Group was over £100m in the year ended June 2006 and net assets were £140m at the year end.
Overview of role
The role will focus on processing our Secured Lending & Mortgages business and include
Core role:
- Postings Process
- Ensuring Customer money is posted to the correct accounts,
- Ensuring posting queries are dealt with and followed up,
- Checking and balancing each Posting process to ensure all items have been captured in the Postings procedure
- Banking slip
- Ensuring that Customer banking payments are checked and processed to the Customers accounts.When we have received money that we are not sure of we require information from our Bank, we then investigate this payment ensuring the money is posted to the correct account
- Transfers
- This process is incorporated with the banking slip.When we have received money that we are not sure of we require information from our Bank, we then investigate this payment ensuring the money is posted to the correct account which will entail transferring the money from our holding account onto the correct customer account in question
- Customer charge payments
- You will be responsible for collecting and monitoring Customer charge arrears with 3rd parties, managing the queries and documentation
- Team Work – We are one team and when other staff are struggling we all help, this includes:
- Banking,
- sending telegraphic transfers,
- raising nominal cheques,
- direct debit set ups,
- answering telephones,
- sorting out queries raised internally and by customers
The role will report into our Financial Operations Manager, but will also involve working closely with members of the Group’s senior staff and Directors.
Preferred characteristics of individual
The ideal candidate is likely to be an individual who
a) has been working & training in a companies accounts function for at least two years
b) has a good understanding of basic accounting principles
c) is confident dealing with other staff
d) is looking for a job with excellent future development/progression potential
