Senior Pre Sales Consultant - circa £55,000 - £70,000 per annum + car + bonus + benefits

A rare and interesting opening has become available for an experienced IP Sales Engineer to lead the pre-sales activities for large European enterprise customers, delivering high end consultancy, technical architectural designs and presentations for complex IP Networking Solutions encompassing some or all of the following technologies: IPVPN, VPN MPLS, Security, Voice / IPT / VoIP technology based on vendor equipment and software from Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Checkpoint etc

Based in central London with the option to partly work from home and offering a basic salary of up to £70,000 per annum + car + bonus + benefits, we are seeking to hire an experienced IP & Security Networking subject matter expert & customer architect with both strong commercial and technical skills. Additional skills in security solutions and vendors including Cisco PIX, Nokia, Fortigate, Checkpoint or Juniper are also important.

This pre-sales and solutions architect role will provide high level technical sales support & presales activities for all IP solutions based on an MPLS Core Network. Combining business acumen with advanced technical ability this is a customer facing role involved with prospect meeting, conducting presentations and solutions design.

Typically you will take ownership for presales consulting, architecture of solutions based on client requirements, Authoring of Solution Specifications/ Solution Architecture documents, Researching new products, Product Roadmaps, Acting as a bridge between sales team, customer and the delivery team and Defining project scope and the solution architecture, working with the Project Manager through the execution.

You will also be involved in responding to bid requests, ITT/ RFI / RFP, RFQ, identifying customer requirements, designing suitable solutions & presenting at executive/director level.

The solutions you create will be implemented and rolled out to an impressive base of Corporate & Enterprise customers throughout Europe.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a pre-sales / sales engineering / technical consultancy / customer solutions architect position with both strong technical and commercial skills, able to present in CxO / Board level meetings.

From a technical perspective candidates must possess demonstrable experience in designing enterprise level customer solutions around a wide range of techonologies including Cisco, IP-VPN, MPLS, Security / Firewalls. You must have knowledge of key vendors, predominantly with Cisco - Routers, Switches, PIX, ASA and other vendors including Juniper, Fortigate / Fortinet, Nokia Checkpoint etc.

Any IPT knowledge - CallManager, Unity / VoIP converged solutions ideal.

Furthermore, any candidates that hold certifications including CCIP, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CCVP, CVoice, CISSP are highly desirable. Any other certifications like Juniper also considered in relation to your application.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a progressive technical career, possibly working as a Network Support or Implementation Engineer for some time before moving into Pre-sales, Sales Engineering or Solution Design and Development. Furthermore you will need customer facing experience working in a pre-sales or other similar commercial or constancy role.
