The Edinburgh Pricing Hub provides operational support to the Fund Administration department in Dublin, Luxembourg, Bournemouth, Frankfurt, South Africa and AMSG-London and Swindon, by ensuring that key pricing services necessary to complete NAV calculations are completed efficiently, within specific time frames and in a controlled environment to minimise risk. The department covers extended hours (typically 6 am - 7 pm although may vary depending on business needs). Specific functions carried out within the Group include
- Daily Price review, analysis and validation of all investment assets held within the Investment Funds
- Analysis of Financial Market information and index movement as related to price movements
- Review and monitoring of Foreign Exchange information on an Intra-day basis
- Pricing Vendor management for EMEA.
The department works closely with the full service teams, Technology and Business Support and Development groups, Risk Management, External Service Providers and external clients.
Da Vinci Project
Project Da Vinci is an investment operations and back office outsourcing program. It is made up of two key phases:
1. Detailed review of current JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) - Service Provider outsourcing model, with a view to designing a model for that service to be migrated to and provided by JP Morgan Worldwide Securities Services (WSS) going forward. This aspect of the project is scheduled for three months.
2. Execution of the build and test of the JPMAM - WSS operating model with emphasis on new functionality
The project is broken-down into a number of streams, this description relates to the accounting and client reporting stream. The testing will include systems such as Investone, Views and AMCR and covers all outbound files to JPMAM
Objective:
To provide daily production support of the Fund Accounting operations on following aspect.
Pricing analysis and control
Interaction with Fund Accounting Teams on pricing data queries
Focus on intra-day and close of business funds
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collection of prices for daily pricing of all investment assets and analysis of price movements in conjunction with market expectations
- Pricing delivery on required deadline on all slots
- Answering of queries for Fund Administration Service Groups,
- Raising queries to pricing vendors and brokers
- Regular update of pricing portfolios and spreadsheets
- Maintain and follow contingency procedures
- Daily completion of tasks and activites with relevant back up to ensure adequate level of control exists.
- Work closely with Pricing Team Leaders and Production Managers to identify efficiencies where possible
- Support pricing group in the event of systems problems that could lead to delivery delays
- Maintain updated procedures for all tasks he/she is responsible for.
- Coverage of duties of other personnel during their absence.
- Train less experienced members of staff and work closely with Team Leader and Pricing Group Manager
- Log queries received within the Group and work closely with Fund accountants to solve issues arise.
- Follow through on all key requirements and communicate feedback on issues that make it difficult to complete tasks
- Ensure all required training is completed within the required time
- Ensure filing is completed on time
- Assist with the back up for audit requests when required

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Ability to work shift patterns is essential.
- Some knowledge of Information Providers and Pricing Vendors services and products e.g. Bloombergs, Reuters, FT Interactive Data
- Knowledge of the operation of Financial Markets with specific emphasis on the characteristics of all investment instruments types, securities and assets from a Pricing perspective
- Some working knowledge of Fund Accounting and Custody operations and functions will be a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and in line with short delivery deadlines, while maintaining good relationships with colleague, clients and other Business areas
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Excel is a requirement, but generally the incumbent must be PC literate with a good understanding of the MS Windows environment
- The incumbent must be able to work to the standard set out in the local Standard Operating Procedures and J.P. Morgan Corporate Policies.
