My clients is one of the world's largest global design consultancies whose Oil and Gas Division is a leading independent supplier of engineering and specialist services to the Oil and Gas industry. They have been providing there impressive client portfolio solutions to the Oil and Gas sector since 1975. An urgent requirement now exists for a Senior Structural Engineer to help this business grow and deliver projects in the offshore structures market.
Principal Civil / Structural Engineer responsibilities:
• Supervision of structural engineering consultancy work for all types of offshore structures including fixed, floating and subsea elements, ensuring the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering
• Project management of consultancy agreement with typical annual revenue equal to £500,000
• Maintaining and developing client relationships
• Preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals and tenders
• Meeting cost and time targets to assist Atkins' process in delivering high quality consultancy services to oil and gas industry clients
• Preparation of business reports, plans, budgets and marketing plans
Principal Civil / Structural Engineer experience/qualifications:
• Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Structural or Offshore Engineering
• Chartered in a relevant Engineering Discipline
• Substantial structural engineering experience including offshore design and assessment using AISC, API, ISO and Eurocodes
• Experience in finite element analysis e.g. ASAS, SESAM, USFOS
• Understanding of environmental loading and vessel motions
• Project management experience with a track record of project delivery
• Good report writing and reviewing skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Ability to cope and respond rapidly to challenging problems
- Desirable -
• Able and willing to occasionally work offshore in support of repair and inspection projects
• Knowledge of the Structural Integrity Management procedures defined in API RP2 SIM and ISO 19902
