Principal OHL Design Engineer
West Sussex
£55k maximum
You will be accountable for:-
The production of detailed design documents for all OHL design tasks
The control of documents and drawings in accordance with the companies management procedures
Design input/output within the designated risk management process
You will be responsible for:-
The production, checking and approval of detailed calculations/drawings for OHL designs.
Discharging the responsibilities of the Designer under the CDM regulations.
The preparation, checking and submission of DID, CTQ and phase reports.
Liaison with the client/consultant on design issues.
Production and checking of ALL design tender information prior to submission.
Liaisons with construction/site management to ensure design interpretations are correct at every stage of the project life.
The management of the design process under the various contract strategies.
The updating of the design programmes for the duration of the project life.
Co-ordination of design activities across multiple projects
The review of method statements/risk assessments and the production, checking and approval of Construction Design Study documents.
The development of new industry software.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
You will be required to have a BSc, BEng, HNC or equivalent in Structural/Civil Engineering and also with extensive experience in the OHL Transmission industry.
You must have an understanding of the latest OHL design practices, standards and CAD software systems.
TP141A authorized in accordance with NG Transmission procedures. (Or able to achieve within 3months).
You must have an understanding of site practices, which should include foundation setting out/construction, structure assembly/erection, conductor erection and ALL temporary works.
