Principal OLE Designers
Based in either Birmingham, York OR Swindon
Salaries range from £45,000 to £57,500 + Above Average Benefits Package
My client is a market leader within the rail industry providing exceptional solutions within rail OLE design. Due to continues growth within the OLE discipline and a strong order-book, I am
looking for 2 experienced Principal Engineers to provide sound technical skills to ensure project requirements and client's specifications are fully met on the OLE side of the business. You will be required to provide advice and guidance to staff within the discipline. My client recognises the impertinence of this individual to play a pivotal role within the team and therefore we are flexible for the right individual to be based from multiple offices dependant on your desired location.
Role & Responsibilites:
- Provide conceptual, outline and detailed design for OLE engineering solutions in allocation, basic and construction design.
- Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports and other written documents.
- Design detailed allocation and construction design, and assessments on the Overhead - Line Engineering of horizontal and vertical track alignment schemes.
- Deliver work to programme, budget and specification
- Be competent to check elements of OLE engineering solutions.
- Produce design concepts, drawings, specifications and other technical documents
- Manage Projects to time and budget
- Ensure Quality of work being completed by other members of the team
- Provide input into project quality plan and implement quality practice in all projects.
- Suggest best methods and practices to meet technical and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with H&S, Environmental and other appropriate regulations.
I am looking for someone with previous experience in Overhead Line design and knowledge of UK rail industry practice and a familiarity with railway standards. You should also have a degree, HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and be competent in the production of drawings using CAD software, ideally Microstation. You should also be a member of a relevant professional organisation.
