Atkins have worked on over 1,000 Oil and Gas Installations and 60% of our Oil and Gas Revenues now come from beyond the North Sea. We work on some of the most exciting and varied projects in the Oil and Gas sector.

Due to continued growth, a number of opportunities exist for Structural Engineers, with previous experience in offshore structures, within our Oil and Gas team based in our Aberdeen office.

Successful candidates will be involved in structural engineering consultancy work for all types of offshore structures including fixed, floating and subsea.



Responsibilities
  • Supervision of structural engineering consultancy work for all types of offshore structures including fixed, floating and subsea
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Ensure the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering
  • Meet cost and time targets to assist Atkins process in delivering high quality consultancy services to oil/gas industry clients
  • Preparation of prequalification responses, proposals and tenders
  • Preparation of business and marketing plans
  • Cost tracking and responsibility for invoicing.


Requirements
Essential
  • Good (Honours) degree in Civil, Structural or Offshore Engineering
  • CEng status
  • Extensive experience in structural engineering, particularly offshore structural engineering
  • Finite Element analysis
  • Understanding of wave loading and vessel motions
  • Good report writing skills
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to cope rapidly with challenging problems.
Desirable
  • Experience in advanced finite element analysis
  • Experienced user of the following software:
    • ABAQUS, SESAM, USFOS, ASAS

  • A co-operative and helpful attitude to colleagues and clients
  • Self-motivating
  • Potential to progress to Chief Engineer
  • Reliable, consistent and mature approach to work
