My client is a world leading consultancy of engineers and specialist advisers who are focused on developing technical excellence in each of their specialist disciplines. Having won some major contract with Network Rail and LUL, an opportunity has arisen for a senior individual to lead their structures team on underground/overground station projects. As a chartered engineer, you will have extensive experience of working on station/depot structures. My client is flexible on location and is actively recruiting for roles throughout Yorkshire.
The Role:
Providing leadership to design teams and mentoring and developing junior design staff in station/depot design.
Being technically proficient in the design of heavy civil engineering structures associated with stations and other relevant infrastructure works.
Providing leadership to design teams
Ensuring design work is undertaken in accordance with quality procedures and CDM legislation
Managing programme and budgets of design work
Managing internal and external communications
Managing project risk
Interest in continuous improvement.
Oversee the delivery of a scheme through feasibility, detailed, tender and construction stage.
Good team player within a multi-disciplinary environment with extensive knowledge of Rail related projects.
The Requirement:
Knowledge of Network Rail and/or London Underground standards and approvals processes.
Extensive knowledge of either underground or overground station design.
Chartered individual
Extensive relevant post graduate experience.
Good technical experience in the design of heavy civil structures such as station boxes, depots etc.
Good working knowledge of CDM requirements.
Extensive experience of working on rail projects.
