Print Production Manager – Print Management / Direct Mail – Cheltenham – Up to £35,000 depending on experience – Direct Mail / Print Management
Print Production Manager – Print Management / Direct Mail needed urgently for a rapidly growing Print Management company with offices around the UK.This Print Production Manager will be based in Cheltenham with ad hoc travel in the South West.You’ll report directly the Client Service Manager and will need to have a good understanding of the technicalities of print processes for direct mail.This is an organisation with extremely low staff turnover, excellent career progression, and loyal customer base.This is a business with a low carbon footprint, highly efficient in everything that they do.
As Print Production Manager – Print Management / Direct Mail you will be responsible for:
Summary of role
1.Develop the best possible production solutions to client problems
2.Tactical management of supplier relationships to deliver the best production solutions whilst optimising supplier rebates
3.Contribute to the training of junior project management staff
4.Contribute to the development of new products and services
Specific responsibilities
…relating to developing the best possible production solutions to client problems
·Defining the most appropriate specifications and supplier shortlist for any brief referred to you
·Timely preparation of competitive quotations and tenders on projects referred to you, both from client service teams, and business development staff
·Maintain a library/records of relevant paper samples and supplier technical capabilities
…relating to the tactical management of supplier relationships to deliver best production solutions
·Proactively seek out new supplier relationships to complement our portfolio and ensure client needs are met competitively – particularly in the area of paper supply
·Proactively monitor supplier workloads through oversight of production schedules
·Advise client service teams on supplier selection on major projects, balancing the issues of technical capability, supplier spend, relationship objectives, scheduling and supplier capacity.
·Make recommendations to client service/business development teams on pricing decisions
·Monitor monthly spend with suppliers and advise Operations Manager/client service teams on the optimal balance between rebate income and price competitiveness on particular jobs
·Optimise income from supplier rebates, within the context of our other supplier management objectives
·Maintain accurate records of all supplier rebate agreements and income
…relating to training of junior project management staff
·Work collaboratively with junior project management staff to develop their technical dm production knowledge
·Advise and assist junior staff on negotiations with suppliers
…relating to the development of new products and services
·Ensure the company keeps up to date with all new technical and supplier developments relevant to our core dm print management business
