Process Development Technologist
LOCATION: North West
SALARY AND BENEFITS: 20 - 25k
COMPANY INFORMATION:
Our client is a multimillion pound turnover highly regarded fresh and chilled food manufacturer based in the North West. Currently supplying to all major retail multiples they are experiencing growth and therefore in need of a new addition to their Process Development team.
ESSENTIAL:
*Food related degree or equivalent and experience in process development within a department of a chilled foods manufacturer.
*Energy & enthusiasm with an eagerness to learn and further develop your skills
*Effective communication skills, and the ability to compile meaningful and accurate reports.
*Competent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
*A strong personality with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues from all disciplines.
*A 'can do' approach
ROLE INFORMATION:
*You will Report directly to the Head of New Product Development
*Manage the introduction of new products into the factory, liaising with production, planning, buying, accounts and technical teams. Produce all relevant documentation for trials co-ordinating input from relevant departments and feedback results to all concerned. Ensuring products that are launched are right first time.
*Manage the cost-effective launch of products, which meet or exceed the target margin. Through the trial process, identify areas where cost savings can be made for the business and deliver these. Involve the collection of all the information required from production to cost products accurately
*Develop and launch products in line with the critical path and manage deviations from plan
*Plan and control resources to execute trials efficiently in order to collate and report all necessary information such as yields, labour costs and new raw material processing methods, maximising information capture on all factory trials
*Provide specialist knowledge on all aspects of the product and process and be capable of presenting both to internal and external customers
*Prepare, manage and review all documentation required as part of the development procedure.
*Provide an interface and be an effective communicator before and during customer trials.
*Be the customer conscience within the business during Factory trials and pre-productions
