A leading Procurement Consultancy working closely with global organisations to drive added value, increase flexibility and reduce costs is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager for Marketing Services to play a central role in the team, delivering key procurement projects. The job may require travel.
Areas of responsibility will include taking on both project and non-project related tasks such as:
- Managing a team of procurement professionals.
- Managing/coordinating delivery of multiple small or medium project teams to deliver sourcing projects within a client/category area.
- Responsible for delivering savings targets and other project/category targets (depending on engagement), in some cases including developing or improving processes
- Meeting with clients and stakeholders to build project requirements and vendor base to meet engagement and project objectives.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities within existing clients.
- Interpreting results and formulating strategies based on modelling and analysis
- Managing key supplier relationships to ensure optimum performance, including leading
negotiations.
- This role may involve developing or leading an internal operational area, i.e. Category
Expertise.
The successful candidate will be graduate calibre and have strong strategic sourcing experience from a leading consultancy or blue chip organisation with experience of managing and delivering significant portion of procurement projects.
- You will have a solid background within Procurement (Direct or Indirect) with the ability to demonstrate deep category expertise in Marketing, in addition a broad experience working across multiple category areas.
- You will have an excellent understanding and be able to apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concept in constructing simple tenders and evaluation criteria.
- Excellent communicator, with the confidence to communicate at all levels of the business.
- Confident in managing procurement projects and teams.
- In depth knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology
- Excellent negotiation & influencing skills
- A track record of achievements
- Be degree educated and ideally hold professional membership i.e. MCIPS
- Analysis experience with first class Excel skills
- Flexible approach with ability to travel both within the UK and internationally
