Product Technologist
LOCATION: Northampton shire
SALARY AND BENEFITS: 30 - 35k
COMPANY INFORMATION:
My Client is a family owned business who specializes in protein based convenience foods. They are highly regarded within there sector and have achieve Category Champion status in two of their major customers. Their well establish Technical and NPD team are looking to add to the function with a Product Technologist when they will provide full training and support.
ESSENTIAL:
*HND or degree level in food science or technology.
*Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
*Good GCSE's or equivalent in English, Maths and a Science
*Good attention to detail required
*Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to speak to all levels of management
*Knowledge of computers and in particular MS Word and Excel
*Knowledge of major retailer specification systems, however training can be given to the right candidate
*Desirable to have a previous background in Technical/ QA in the food industry, with previous experience in specification writing,
*Ability to work on own initiative and on their own at times, as well a part of the team
ROLE INFORMATION:
* To coordinate the NPD critical launch path, to ensure that all requirements are being completed within appropriate timescales
Items such as
o Specification completion
o Product attributes
o Artwork and Label Proof approval
o HACCP, Process and Micro validation
o Customer Launch reviews
o Meat content calculations
o Process Information to the factory
* To be able to manage, update and complete retailer and group specifications that are accurate and completed in a timely manner. The specifications must comply with Group policy requirements and provide sufficient detail as required by our customers.
* To be able to communicate clearly and effectively with external sources to obtain the correct information for specification completion.
* To be able to manage and maintain our raw material specifications
* To be able to manage and maintain packaging specifications.
* Completion where appropriate of customer product history forms and NPD information summaries to accompany samples and customer presentations
