My Client, a specialist in the field of BioResearch and Molecular Biology is seeking a Product Specialist on a permanent basis.

Job Description:
Product Specialist for a Biotech firm engaged in the development, production and marketing of real-time reagents for molecular biology. This role would suit a candidate with a very strong background in molecular biology; you will be responsible for the product portfolio over its life cycle in a manner that maximises the overall return/profit to the company within the context of the company business and marketing plans.
Hours:
42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Some flexibility required.
You must:
· Hold a MSc or PhD in molecular biology or a closely related topic.
· Strong working and practical knowledge of PCR and QPCR is essential
· Possess the ability to write technical and/or marketing documentation
· Possess an excellent and demonstrable command of the English language
Principal Duties:
· Become proficient with the entire molecular biology range and subsequently organise the design and preparation of the product support literature; product catalogue, sheets, brochures, guides, product inserts and all other promotion pieces attached to the products working alongside the marketing communication and development group and any external agencies.
· Collaborate with product development, operations, manufacturing, distribution and other support functions to ensure that the products are efficiently supplied and supported through the marketing and sales channels.
· Define, recommend and implement changes to the existing products; redesign, reformulation,
repackaging, etc... to extend their life cycle
· Organise the design and preparation of training and sales aids to be used in the product training of sales group and distributors. This includes also external Seminars and Lectures for the application area.
· Shadow and participate in laboratory experiments in order to acquire an in depth practical knowledge of the product line on the various platforms and robotics.
· Visits to foreign events as and when required.
· Define and recommend to the Director, opportunities for new product development, licensing and even acquisition initiatives, which reflect opportunities for increased sales and/or profit growth. Specifically leading the commercial input to the new product development process, including product definition, business case and application area.
