Outline of Main Areas of Role Responsibility
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Product and Process Development Engineer to join a leading niche seating and furniture manufacturing company in a new position that is interesting and challenging and critical to the strategic direction of the business.
A key central role, the Product and Process Development Engineer will sit between the external product design team and the internal production and engineering team and facilitate and project manage the smooth transition of prototype development , product development , process improvement and New Product Introduction
As a central aspect of the role the Product and Process Development Engineer will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of all the supporting processes around product development including Design Interrogation and Analysis, Design for Manufacture techniques , Introduction of New Product Protocols, Process and procedure Improvements, repeatability and reliability of manufacturing processes, production constraints, material suitability and development and improvement of technology to support the development of products, the improvement of designs and the improvement of the systems that support the functions.

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience of product design and the ability to interpret designs
- A relevant engineering or production qualification and good technical skills
- Experience of DFM (Design for Manufacture)
- Experience of Product Development
- An understanding of machine and production equipment capabilities
- Experience of CAD/CAM
- Knowledge of Process Development/Process Improvement
- Experience of NPI (New Product Introduction)
- Conceptual skills (able to visualise/create)
- Composition skills
- Drive and energy
- Assertiveness
- Persuasive and able to gain co-operation and buy-in
- Attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
Helpful Experience (but not essential)- Experience of furniture manufacture
