The Role: Production Controller
Location: High Wycombe
Salary: £TBC - Depending on Experience
Brief Description
Our client manufacture bespoke military and commercial stabilised platforms, surveillance, gun control cameras, control systems and weapons integration equipment in low quantities on a project basis.
The Production Controller will own larger value and more complex contracts, from the initial planning of tasks through material delivery, build, test, inspection and finally to despatch. The successful candidate will provide the necessary materials, control function, expediting, organisational abilities and cost to complete data to enable the correct quality products to be completed to target costs, within the budgeted hours.
Required Experience
Significant and in depth experience in production control within an electro-mechanical operations environment
Low volume batch type manufacture experience gained within a defence / aerospace environment
Experience of ISO9000 systems or equivalent
Thorough understanding of the key drivers necessary to successfully execute production orders
Must be computer literate and familiar with Word and Excel as a minimum
Knowledge and understanding of the use of MRP systems, bespoke computerised manufacturing / business systems within a manufacturing organisation
Ability to read and understand wiring schedules, mechanical drawings, mechanical and electronic BOMs and plan work load to meet delivery dates
Ability to communicate at all levels from shop floor to senior management
Ability and willingness to achieve deadlines and prioritise own work, work as an individual and in a team
Self motivated and proactive with good interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of original thought and able to put forward ideas and back them with constructive arguments
Willing to occasionally work outside of regular hours in order to meet tight timescales and deadlines
May be required occasionally to lift up to 25kg
Required Education
HNC in Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic engineering
