Our client in Malaga, Spain is searching for a Production Database Administrator (DBA) who is competent in DB2. He/she forms part of our Network and Systems Administration team. He/she has solid relational database knowledge as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and will be responsible for the operation of our 24x7 mission-critical database servers.

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a global DBA team to administer mission-critical production database servers
• Performing data migrations
• Database backup and recovery
• Troubleshooting of database issues
• Monitoring of database usage and tuning systems to optimize performance
• Maintaining database security

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience with DB2
• Experience with or an ability and interest to cross train to Microsoft SQL Server
• 5+ years DBA experience in a Linux/Unix environment, including knowledge and comfort with command line and shell scripts
• 5+ years experience writing SQL and shell scripts
• Experience with database backup and recovery
• Experience with SQL optimization and database tuning
• Working experience with Informix database systems is a bonus (can be learned on the job)
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience


You will be eligible to work in Spain with out the need for a work visa.

Salary based on experience and relocation package.
