Alpla UK Ltd, is part of the privately owned ALPLA Group - with its HQ in Austria and over 130 plastics manufacturing plants worldwide. In the UK we operate 9 manufacturing plants on 7 independent locations, with our Golborne, near Warrington site, being the largest in both plastics technology and employees.
Having recently moved into new larger premises locally, we now wish to recruit a Production Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, to deliver the necessary changes going forward to ensure that Alpla maintain its already high customer service record in the supply of high quality plastic containers and moulded parts etc to its high profile customers, many of which are household names.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate significant Plastic Extrusion Blow Moulding and/or Injection Moulding production knowledge, together with contemporary management experience and training in a similar fast paced, high volume modern plastic production facility, where leading edge technology is used extensively throughout. We operate under BRC and ISO standards at all times.
Key responsibilities will be to ensure the day to day machine optimisation and efficiencies; waste reduction programmes; effective labour utilisation and total product quality adherence at all times etc, managed through a team of Supervisors and Team Leaders reporting to you, working on a 24/7 basis.
You will need to be fully IT literate, customer focused mainly within FMCG sector supply, methodical in your approach and communicate effectively at all levels within the business during a period of rapid change across two local Operational Units and beyond. Applicants holding a relevant Engineering qualification would be at an advantage and additional training in either 5’s, SMED or Six Sigma will prove useful tools going forward.
