Production Manager/Cabinet Workshop Manager
LOCATION: North Yorkshire
SALARY AND BENEFITS: £28,000 plus

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
-Successful experience managing a small but varied workshop environment (where at any one times there a number of different jobs going through the production process and the process is varied and needs good planning)
-Ideally worked in a manufacturing environment where high quality decorative goods in small batches have been produced.
-Background with a mix of catalogue (standard) and bespoke product bkg
-Experience must be in craft type workshop, using primarily small tools
-Previously managed 5 - 20 staff (hands on and overseen)
-Must have experience of working with Just-In-Time suppliers on a project basis,
and working from stock components from local and overseas suppliers
-Ideally has broad range of relevant hands on skills working in cabinetry, hand painting, lacquering, and finishing, gilding, model making or vacuum casting.
-Relevant industries worked in would be: fine cabinet making (furniture, top end kitchens, mirrors, picture frames) antique restoration and reproductions. Must be high end where quality and attention to detail is paramount.
Ideal candidate will be a proven Production Supervisor or Production Manager. Happy to be hands on as well as Managing a small team and managing orders through production of the workshop. Must be able to organise, motivate and lead a team (often with staff performing a variety of tasks within a day) and getting the best out of staff and making sure that high quality products are produced. Must know how to deliver against quality, service level and productivity targets.
Must have an understanding of the principals of modern manufacturing ie: continuous improvement, quality assurance, and accountability. A knowledge of lean manufacture, six sigma would be ideal but must also have successful management experience.
Must be numerate and have excellent communication skills, CAD skill;s would be a bonus, basic IT skills

ROLE INFORMATION:
Mange a successful workshop, motivate and lead a small team and be responsible to customers for orders and manage the jobs through the workshop meeting deadlines.
Responsible for making sure all work leaves the factory at the highest level and excellent quality.
