Job Background:
Building from a firm 6 Sigma base our client has developed the Production System (PS) over the last 18 months. Similar in some respects to the Toyota Production System. PS is made up of three sub-systems, as follows. The Cultural System, The Management System and the Operating System. Within these three sub-systems there are 15 guiding principles, which are fundamentally based on a lean production system.
The corporation has divided the global deployment into three regions, The Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our client is currently establishing regional deployment offices in each of these regions and seek experienced professionals to deploy the Production System into its many facilities on a global scale. The facilities produce a huge variety of products and vary in size from 80 to 4500 people.
Job Duties:
The role of the European Deployment Managers is to take PS and work with the various manufacturing locations to deploy the guiding principles to transform manufacturing at each location.
The key deployment steps are as follows:
>Strategy Alignment.
>High level extended value stream mapping for the current state.
>Future state design of value streams at various levels within the business.
>Developing detailed plans to move from current state to future state.
>Working with the plants to develop business processes within the 'order to delivery space'. From forecasting through to delivery of the product to the end user.
>Working with our Clients' manufacturing locations across EAME to practically deploy the elements listed under key skills.
>Supplying any necessary expertise and assistance to ensure the Facilities are successful.
Knowledge & Experience:
>Successful candidates will have the following level of knowledge and experience:
>Extensive operational experience deploying lean principles into manufacturing businesses.
>Proven track record of being a successful change agent.
>Large scale change management.
>Ideally have an automotive or consultancy background.
>Be very familiar with the Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar.
>Demonstrate, by example, value stream mapping, and particularly future state design of complex manufacturing processes.
>Know lean principles and be able to apply them to practical situations to bring business benefit and employee engagement.
>Be able to demonstrate by example a case studies, which they have lead and delivered
>Be able to work at every level of the business from shop floor to Vice President
>Ability to plan large projects with structure and logic.
>Have proven capability of running workshop sessions with a multi disciplined team.
>Have experience in Manufacturing and ideally understand demand management, S&OP planning processes, Supply chain processes, Order Management Processes & Capacity Planning Processes.

Deploy the following principles and tools at plants as & when required to aid the execution of the plan at each plant.

Other Skills & Academic Qualifications:
Successful candidates will ideally have a first degree or higher in an Engineering or Business related subject. Evidence of professional development is expected. Candidates must have excellent team working, planning, communication and people skills and an ability to influence and drive change successfully at all levels.
Other Information:
>Can be lots of international travel - Max continuous usually 1 week.
>Should be use to working in a large multinational
>Driving license required
>Happy to work alone or from home since the team spread across Europe.
>No relocation necessary. Should be comfortable to travel to Cambridgeshire once or twice per month.
>Familiar with booking/organizing travel, using lotus notes & Microsoft Office
>European languages - French, German, Italian, Dutch desirable.
Hours:
37 hrs
Overtime:
Overtime will be a necessity in this role as the international travelling will require additional hours.
Rate:
Up to £33 per hour. Permanent role will pay up to £60,000 per annum.
