Production Team Leader - Northampton
Our client is a prestigious Food manufacturer based in Northampton. They are currently looking for a skilled Team Leader for the day and night shifts of their operation.
Food production experience is essential for this role, as is the ability to Man – Manage. A good work ethic and commitment to work is essential.
This is a permanent position and an immediate start is available
Duties to include:
Quality
• Ensure all finished products are delivered at the specified quality and technical standards.
• Ensure direct reports comply with statutory and company food safety policies by means of regular audits.
• Complete root cause corrective action investigations into identified quality defects/faults.
• Ensure required levels of hygiene performance are maintained in areas of responsibility and run a ‘clean as you go’ policy.
Service
• Deliver 100% customer accuracy and targeted service levels.
People Management
• Conduct all interaction with team members in a professional and supportive manner in line with the Company Values.
• Ensure manning levels on the lines are appropriate to achieve cost, service and quality targets.
• Ensure all team members, employed and agency, are trained in line with GMP and SOP’s in their area of work and that training records and matrices are maintained.
• Provide a safe working environment for employees and visitors by maintaining high housekeeping standards, adhering to safe working practices.
• Ensure effective team communications by holding daily shift meetings and weekly team briefings.
• Actively manage absence in line with the Absence Management Procedure and holidays in line with the Holiday Authorisation Procedure.
Efficiency, Continuous Improvement and Best Practice Manufacture
• Manage area of responsibility in line with Best Practice Manufacturing principles.
• Ensure lines start promptly at commencement of the operation, and after product changes or stoppages.
• Ensure production line speeds and outputs are optimised at all times.
• Ensure adequate supply of product resources is available to the lines.
• Minimise waste across area of responsibility.
• Optimise equipment effectiveness by responding to engineering faults promptly and supporting PPM activity.
• Achieve targeted units per man hour levels across area of responsibility.
• Ensure all production, quality control and administrative documentation is completed accurately and at correct frequency.
Notify the Shift Production Manager on a timely basis of any anomalies within quality, process, waste, efficiency or administration issue.
