Programme Manager - Radar Systems; Defence & Security
Navigation has partnered with a market leader within technology and innovation, known for its ability to solve technical problems and provide creative and practical solutions to business issues, in the search for an experienced Programme Manager with a solid background in sensor development in the Defence and Security industry.
The successful Programme Manager will be involved in managing challenging and often complex product and system developments for clients in a range of market sectors and a diverse range of programmes with a focus on the defence and security market.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities are as follows:-
- Proposal preparation.
- Team selection.
- Negotiations with 3rd parties.
- Managing concept generation.
- Managing project size up to £3m.
- System architecture analysis.
- Liaison across engineering disciplines.
- Developing client relations and respond to their needs.
- Managing project size up to £3m.
- Working within tight timescales and budgets, managing both internal and external resources.
You will manage projects from requirements definition through to final delivery, including involvement in disciplines and the specification, implementation and testing of the design.
The successful candidate will possess the following:-
- A good degree in an Engineering or Science subject.
- Substantial industry experience working in radar and other sensor systems.
- A thorough understanding of radar sensors and their underlying principles.
- Proven track record in managing large multi-disciplinary projects.
- A sound commercial understanding within a relevant industry sector, including experience in negotiating contract terms.
- Proven ability to lead the sales process, including technical and commercial proposal writing and converting prospects into sales.
