My client is one of the leading contractors within the Middle East and North Africa. They have an urgent requirement for a Project Director on a grass root refinery project that encompasses the construction of all disciplines such as civil works, process buildings, structural steel erection, equipment erection, piping fabrication and erection, electrical instrumentation along with all pre commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and background;
o University degree in engineering preferably mechanical engineering.
o Minimum 25 years experience in the construction of oil and gas projects including refinery work.
o At least 10 years experience in a similar project management position for project size that involves more than 10 million man hours of work including EPC.
o Must have experience on project execution in the Arabian Gulf countries.
o Capable of managing a multinational work force including Asian and far eastern countries.
o He must be a leader and decision maker, while having the ability to manage and advice his staff on technical issues as well as to manage commercial and organizational issues.
o Languages and Computer literacy is a plus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities;
He will be the top man on the project organization and reports to the area general manager. His responsibilities include the supervision of execution of all Construction activities on the project including those that will be subcontracted, within schedule and budget. He needs to follow the company procedures, systems, communication lines and levels of authority maintaining good relations with all parties involved i.e. client, main contractor, superiors and subordinates etc. His responsibility for the execution of the work also includes the implementation of the highest prevailing industrial health, safety and environmental program and standards, as well as quality procedures, within the ISO 9000.
