A Project Manager / Employers Agent
position is now available with one of our leading clients. The client is an
international firm who specialise in major projects around the globe. The
successful Project Manager / Employers Agent will be working on an Olympic
project at a senior level. The Project Manager / Employers Agent is responsible for all aspects of
the project’s design, procurement, construction and delivery. The
PM/EA is the main contact for the Development Manager and Development Project
Manager, and is fully accountable for the overall project performance including
cost, quality, programme, health & safety and environment and
sustainability.
Their responsibilities also include:
a. managing contract obligations
b. procurement of the
c. works administering the D&B contract
d. managing consultant’s design and contractors’ design in
collaboration with the development manager
e. planning, setting up and supervising construction including
intra-plot logistics
f. commercial and financial management (with a commercial
manager)
g. quality management
h. implementing health & safety and environmental best practice
including sustainability
i. implementing business processes and general administration including
reporting
j. client management
k. management of the project team.
The PM/EA is responsible to the Operations Director. They will have a
broad knowledge of construction techniques with high technical expertise across
many types of construction and forms of contract. They will possess management
skills and commercial awareness. They will have experience of successfully
completing projects and client side relationship and procurement
experience. They will have good experience of acting in the role of Employers
Agent under Design and Build forms of contract.
Great communication skills are important, along with an ability to work
within and promote a team
environment.
Key
Responsibilities:The Development Manager and the PM/EA will have full and joint
accountability for all aspects of the project.
This role has primary responsibility for delivery of given projects
that are to be procured via an external Tier One contractor. This
responsibility extends to detailed design and contractor design, procurement,
all construction and related activities (including logistics planning and
implementation in collaboration with the site wide logistics team), commercial
management, reporting both internally and externally, programming and planning,
monitoring and close out of authorities obligations and conditions, client
liaison, and staff
management.
Principal
TasksThe PM/EA will report to the Operations Director for the operations
management and delivery of the project.
They will be accountable to the Development Manager for the delivery of
the project in accordance with the Development Brief, cost plan and overall
development objectives. The PM/EA may have some direct reports. The PM/EA will
input into site wide management issues and a high level of interaction and
coordination with other operational members of the site wide team will be
required.

following
skills:
1. Ability to build and manage a high performing team that continuously
outperforms expectations and objectives.

understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
3. Excellent organisational and project management skills
4. Ability to develop and monitor robust programmes on multi-disciplinary
projects and to implement remedial action if required.
5. Skills to read, understand and implement design through excellent
technical understanding.
6. High level of commercial understanding and excellent negotiation
skills.
Applicants must have;
1. Extensive experience in a construction project
environment.
2. A reasonable level of experience in administering D&B
contracts.
3. High technical expertise across different types of construction and
forms of contract.
4. Experience of setting up and successfully completing similar sized
construction projects or groups of projects.
5. Tertiary qualifications in building, project or construction
management, or equivalent vocational training and experience
