Project Manager (French Speaking)
Leicester base with extensive travel throughout France & Europe
£40K+ depending on experience
Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of Automated Handling Systems. They are looking for an effective project manager to work from their European Head Office in the Midlands. The role will involve managing automation projects throughout Europe and in particular working with several customers in France. Due to the nature of this position, candidates are required to travel extensively throughout France and Europe, and will need to be able to speak French.
Key Responsibilities
- Effective Project Management of Automation Projects within France, the UK and Europe.
- Development and ongoing management of an effective Project department within agreed budgetary constraints
- Generation of appropriate reports and monitoring tools
- Development of departmental resources
- Communicate and Coordinate activities and resource with all interacting departments
Specific Duties
- Provide as requested, implementation cost estimates for sales quotations
- Pro active participation in pre sales project reviews to ensure that specification, cost and timescale are achievable
- Assistance where necessary with contract negotiations
- Execution of project management tasks within the companies Quality procedure and the ongoing review / update of the procedures to ensure that all processes are effective and appropriate
- Undertake Risk analysis and implement mitigating actions where appropriate
- Ensure that all UK projects are adequately specified in a timely manner and that approval is sought from the appropriate authorized Client representative
- Timely preparation of appropriate test specifications to clearly define “what success looks like”
- Preparation and management of project delivery schedules
- Ownership and management of project finance (Sell, Cost, profit, cash flow – inbound and outbound etc.) and the accurate reporting of all aspects during monthly MPR’s
- Active management of change to ensure that all opportunities for margin improvement are realized
- Effective management of the project at all stages to ensure Client satisfaction
- Ensure that project acceptance is achieved at the earliest possible opportunity and that all snagging items are completed to prevent delay to final acceptance
- Organization of “postmortem” meetings to identified lessons learned
- Provide leadership to the team, develop the skills and capability of all individuals, actively promote team working and personal ownership
- Develop detailed planning tools to ensure that labour is efficiently deployed and that cost is minimized.
- Develop and communicate a clear understanding of all individual roles and responsibilities within the department
- Arrange regular meetings to communicate with all interfacing departments to discuss issues, requirements and forecast.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of operational cost savings
- Promote effective teamwork and continually strive to maintain moral at a high level
Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective project management skills, ideally with previous experience of OEM or Automation projects. Strong communication skills are essential and applicants MUST be able to speak French.
