Role Description:
Investment Operations Services (IOS), part of JPMorgan's Worldwide Securities Services (WSS) group within the Treasury and Securities Services division, has established an asset management utility providing outsourcing services to asset managers, spanning full outsource and lift-outs to modular offerings/propositions. Currently 4 clients are supported with a further large client mandated to onboard in 2009. The business has a significant pipeline of clients.
The Middle Office group is responsible for delivering seamless end to end services to the client. They achieve this through execution of defined processes, close monitoring of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators and through strong influencing of internal stakeholders (e.g. accounting, pricing and reconciliation hubs) on improving the overall timeliness and quality of services.
Having established this business through the lift-out of the back-offices of two foundation clients, IOS is now focused on improving the efficiency and scalability of the business.
We require Change Managers/Business Analysts to join a team of 10 people responsible for delivering client driven change initiatives.
This position will support our clients serviced out of Swindon and will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating assigned portfolios of client change initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the delivery of a portfolio of client and internal change projects to ensure that delivery meets the agreed timeline and that projects are executed flawlessly in line with JPMorgan's Project Delivery Framework (PDF)
- Producing and delivering high level impact assessments to clients within agreed SLA timeframes
- Liaising with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in operational teams and technology to schedule and co-ordinate the execution of change projects to achieve a successful and mutually agreed outcome.
- Preparation of project plans where appropriate and tracking progress against these
- Managing issues and risks within a defined process.
- Development of business and functional requirements specifications and process flow documents where appropriate
- Developing test strategies for change projects and supporting the operational and technology teams through test evidencing and execution
- Forecasting resourcing requirements from SMEs, operational teams and technology to feed into the overall change demand/capacity model for investment operations
- Regular project progress reporting
- Follow formal project governance (PDF) for planning, project documentation, reporting project progress to stakeholders, both internally and within the client, managing issues, risks and dependencies and utilising the effective escalation channels where required
Core Competencies:
- Proven project management skills in terms of project planning and tracking progress
- Proven skills as a business analyst who can deliver high quality specifications within tight deadlines with an ability to probe for detail in terms of providing solutions for change projects
- Well developed communication skills with an ability to work as part of a team along with those in operational and technology teams
- Self, motivated, proactive and able to plan and prioritise own workload
Desirable:
- The ideal candidate will possess experience in the financial services sector with knowledge and experience covering derivatives and listed assets. Ideally this should have been in either the back or middle office of a fund manager or in an operations team within a service provider
- Knowledge of middle and back office processes covering the life cycle end-to-end is desirable - including an understanding of investment products
This role will report to the Head of Client Change and will have interaction with Middle Office teams, Product, Relationship management & Client Services stakeholders.
