PROJECT PLANNER REQUIRED FOR LEADING SPECIALIST SERVICE PROVIDER TO THE COMMUNICATIONS, POWER TRANSMISSION AND UTILITIES SECTORS!
My client is a specialist service provider to the communications, power transmission, utilities and property sectors, both in the UK and internationally. The Division has experience in providing full end-to-end network services and is an approved supplier to the UK's major network owners and operators.

A project planner is required to work out of the East Midlands Notts office with the newly appointed Senior Planning Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the planning team build, optimise and implement construction planning and programmes (including resources, outages, consents and wayleaves) in conjunction with interested parties to deliver the work.
Work with the planning manager and the planning team to develop a planning culture throughout the business units and projects.
Define programme management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
Take ownership of project handover meetings engaging the Bid team, Project Manager and Q.S.
Work closely with the Project Manager and Project Q.S. to maximise the potential of each project, attend site meetings when necessary to discuss progress and update the project plan together with reporting back on any knock on effects to the business unit .
Represent the business at client meetings.
Support programme integration, governance, formats, plan optimisation, and planning best practices. Undertake additional tasks / responsibilities as directed by Line Management.
Gather benchmarking information to aid the value for money assessment on each project.
In conjunction with the risk management and value engineer produce and manage the risk, issue and opportunity register for assigned projects within the change management.
Keep abreast of current and new planning techniques, technologies and initiatives which may have a benefit for the business.
Maintain ongoing development and delivery of a co-ordinated change agenda for business improvement.

Who you are
- Minimum of 5 years experience of project planning.
- Educated to at least HNC level or NVQ in Project Controls.
- Experience of Primavera in a multi functional environment
- Familiar with the principles of Earned Value Management.
- Has the ability to produce a programme from first principles.
Also experience of the power and process industry or telecoms would be advantageous.
