Our Client is one of the leading construction companies in the UK and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a project Surveyor.
The Role
This role is for a Project Surveyor working in North London. The successful candidate will take accountability for the development and implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contact reporting. This role reports to the Surveying Manager.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Creating, developing and implementing training programmes to enhance the performance of self and commercial teams.
- Understanding and taking ownership of the project risks and opportunities, setting the performance objectives for the tender profit plan, programmes and group financial reporting.
- Developing relationships and engaging with the customer at the appropriate level to the project.
- Taking ownership for optimum cost control, cash and contractual management.
- Regularly reviewing subcontract safety audits prior to payment authorisation and actively promoting group SHE Policies.
- Ensuring all team members understand project accountabilities and objectives.
- Demonstrating understanding of internal and external tender strategies / build up.
- Ensuring our clients main contractual obligations and strategies are executed and regularly reviewed.
- Agreeing external valuations / cash flow to maximise project value.
- Ensuring all the subcontract management / process obligations are complete.
- Completing and submitting Group / Business Unit reports
- Implementing project strategies to maximise turnover, cash, profit, customer satisfaction and repeat business.
One successful candidate will be working on a £15 million new build social housing in North London.
Skills and Capabilities
This role requires an advanced knowledge of:
- Construction methods and technologies
- Measurement and valuation
- Subcontract orders and buying
- Claims and L&E
- Ability to use / understand financial reports and final accounts
- Candidates should have the ability to form and develop strong relationships with clients, PQS, design team and supply chain, and to develop commercial site teams.
- Strong commercial skills are required to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management
