An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Accountant maintaining and upgrading the Great Plains accounting systems in a large NDPB.
Main Role and Responsibilities of the Systems Accountant include:
* Administering all aspects of the financial application systems, including all necessary routine scheduled system maintenance and tasks, user administration, database administration etc to ensure that financial systems are robustly maintained.
* Ensuring financial integrity across the organisations systems and that reconciliations between all systems are completed as required.
* Defining and implement financial systems that meet the organisation's business requirements and develop and maintain strong relationships with systems suppliers that support this
* To Work with budget holders, their teams and their business partners to capture their requirements accurately and translate these into workable solutions.
* Ensuring that all reconciliations are conducted efficiently and according to the timescales outlined by the department.
* Assist the Financial Accountant in any ad-hoc reporting or accounting as required.
Skills required of the Systems Accountant include:
* Having in depth knowledge and understanding of financial accounting rules and regulations
* Proven competence in Great Plains as an accounting tool
* Be a part qualified CCAB accountant or equivalent.
* Encouraging sharing of ideas in planning, objective setting and working methods
* Previous experience of successfully implementing reporting applications (Crystal Reports, Excelerator, Cognos etc)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
