A Blue Chip organisation is now seeking to appoint a Retail Buyer / Buying Manager (Indirect Spend) to work within their established group procurement division. A house hold name, they have market leading products and vast market share, and this is a rare opportunity to manage a high profile purchasing team.
As Retail Buyer / Buying Manager you will be accountable for managing a team of buyers responsible for purchasing products from established and new vendors from a global supplier base with a spend of £60M per annum. Working as part of a dynamic senior management team you will drive purchasing strategy projects and provide valuable support to price and contract negotiations and supply chain management. As a results-focused purchasing individual, you will possess strong commercial awareness and ultimately strive to achieve procurement and corporate business objectives.
It is likely the successful purchasing candidate will have experience within supplier and contract management on a global basis, team management experience, development of purchasing processes, price and contract negotiation, supply chain management, product development, management reporting, quality and customer service and financial management.
It is expected that successful candidates will have the following:
- Retail Buying experience essential. Candidates with Goods not for resale experience will be at a distinct advantage.
- Team management or buyer management experience, minimum 2 years at this level, coupled with significant previous experience at buyer/category manager level.
- Demonstrable experience of leading, developing and motivating a team of buyers.
- CIPS qualified or working towards qualification at Graduate Diploma level or equivalent experience.
- Commercial minded and results focused individual.
- Proactive approach with the ability to drive through agendas.
- Experience of working closely at all levels including senior management with the ability to interface and communicate appropriately with stakeholders including Directors.
