Our Client provides tailored solutions to customers anywhere: whether in metropolitan centres, developing regions, or conflict zones.
They invest in ongoing staff training and development means customers always receive the highest level of service from dedicated and qualified professionals.

They are currently searching a Purchasing Manager Prime Objectives:
o Create, develop and implement strategies to improve sales and gross margin for assigned
categories, as measured against KPI specifications.
o Ensure that SOH levels in theatre reflect sales demand as per KPI specifications
o Ensure efficiencies for the DPT are adhered to, such as lead times, stock weights per category
Main Tasks:
o Manage and implement temporary outlets as required
o Monitor performance of Senior Buyer as per KPI's
o Review store layouts in conjunction with Senior Buyer
o Regularly visit all SRS outlets and distribution facilities and provide written reports
o Ensure that SRS buying prices and products are market competitive and relevant
o Prepare product range proposals for business development proposals
o Assist the DRS and OC in preparation of bids in conjunction with the Senior Buyer
o Prepare a detailed quarterly category plan including market analysis
o Ensure all aspects of SRS Purchasing guidelines are implemented and maintained
o Comply with Supreme supply chain guidelines, as directed by the Supply Chain Manager
o Supervise the procurement of Special Customer Request items (Such as Linen) as required for
relevant category. This will be in discussion with the Operations Controller and Senior Buyer
o Successful forecasting of products with acceptable levels of out of stocks and over stocks as per
KPI
o Improvements in gross margins as outlined in KPI Scheme
o Successful launch of new products and categories in coordination with OC
o Develop and grow the Sales of Brands of those Vendors that have granted Supreme official
Distributorship for the Military and Diplomatic Market
o When new products are purchased to create Spec sheets, including pictures and details
o Meet each fortnight with the Operations Controller and Senior Buyer to discuss progress of
specified categories as per weekly report.
o Prepare detailed category plans to direct the purchasing effort. Inclusive of action plans, strategies,
vendor plans, space allocations, margins, new product launches and rationalisation of each
category.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
o Minimum of five years Retail/Duty Free, FMCG and/or general merchandise category
management experience
o Excellent ability to successfully negotiate the best market prices
o Educated to degree standard.
o High standard of personal computer applications skills
o Experience in coordinating international supply chain management.
o Must have excellent knowledge of English written, spoken and read.
o Willingness to travel to remote regions
o Drivers license and own car required.
