An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our client, a busy food manufacturer located in Suffolk.
This role reporting into the Technical Manager, this role will be the point of contact for food safety, legality, hygiene and also product quality levels.
The Key Roles and Responsibilities for this role should include the following:
· Managing the QA team, providing support, training and advice when necessary. Setting targets and goals, and then following up by appraisals highlighting any areas for improvement to ensure company standards are met.
· Responsible for the recruitment and training of the Quality Auditors.
· Proactively handling any quality issues and quality systems
· Act as a point of contact to help with any quality issues and standards across the company
· Completing scheduled safety and quality audits in line with company standards, HACCP and CCP
· Maintain all relevant documentation
· Maintaining and improving all procedures related to or affecting food safety
· Ensure compliance with legislation and company standards as set out in the Quality Management System
· Evaluate the safety in the manufacturing processes
· Promote good food hygiene and carry out tests and reviews to ensure a hygienic environment e.g. Swabs
· Report any non-conforming products, investigate and implement corrective strategies.
The ideal candidate will match the following criteria:
· An in-depth knowledge of HACCP
· Experience within a chilled food manufacturing environment
· Able to work Shift patterns
· Quality experience within a management / supervisory role
· Qualification in a food related discipline
· Understanding of BRC Standards
