RNLD - GABLES - ATTRACTIVE SALARY & BENEFITS

CLIENT - client is a well established national service provider for adults with learning disabilities. They are a progressive organisation with fantastic growth plans for the future. This specific service is a specialist learning disability service. The flexible nature of the accommodation maximises its ability to offer a service by reducing compatibility problems and enabling the service to accommodate people who may otherwise be excluded due to being vulnerable or high risk.

The service aims to meet the following needs;

*Behaviours that may cause the individual to offend
*Behaviour that challenges service provision
*Socially inappropriate behaviour
*Autism and Aspergers

The service will provide;
*Long term placement
*Emergency accommodation and social care assessment
*Step-down or discharge from assessment and treatment
*Respite
*Short term placement at time of crisis.


THE ROLE - RNLD - Reporting to the Home Manager. To be responsible for all aspects of the running of the home. Ensure the staff team enable the residents to lead a valued, fulfilling life and to maximise the potential capacity of all residents physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. To develop new initiatives in care practices and overall delivery of a quality service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES

*To know what is meant by British Standard, what constitutes this standard and how it assists the home to maintain and promote standards of care and administration in the home.
*To demonstrate awareness of how clinical procedures related to service users care are carried out and administered to maintain their well being and to prevent symptoms of ill being.
*To demonstrate dissemination of information and reporting to/from Manager.
*To control the Home's supplies and that these are used effectively and economically.
*To recognise the legal implications of nursing documentation.
*To safeguard service users' property, valuables and personal possession sand ensure relatives are informed when additional clothing is required.
*To be aware of demonstrate relevant statutory legislation and company policies and procedures eg CS Act, NMC guidelines, Health and Safety (see role specification).
*To adhere to all procedures (see Policies & Procedures Manuals) implemented in the Home and demonstrate understanding in practice.
*To demonstrate the importance of variation in service users' condition, staff compliance or non-compliance and any learning points that you might need to know or unsure of or additional skills to remain competent to practice as registered nurse. Report on any mishaps as soon as possible to Matron and record in the Incident/Accident Report book.
*To report on condition of service users, receive instructions and ensure that these instructions are carried out or document reason for non-compliance.


PERSON SPEC - higher weighting more important

*10 -Solid experience in a RNLD role
*10 - Excellent Learning Disability and/or Mental Health experience
*10 - Good leader (vision, values, standards, ethos), manager ( systems, processes, routines) and coach ( delegate, exception manage, support)
*9 -Relevant professional care qualifications such as NVQ3 Care/NVQ 4 Management
*9 - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
*9 - Well-organised self-starter, who can multi-task in a demanding environment
*9 - Must be able to commit to sleep ins
*9 - To be assertive and confident
*8 -To be person-centred
*8 -Good interpersonal skills
*7 - Demonstrate commitment to the values of the company
